We, Cafe Koo Wee Rup trading as Degani Cafe Koo Wee Rup, &nbsp;are looking for a qualified and experienced Chefs and Cooks on full-time basis who are passionate about food and has ability to handle busy and pressure kitchen environment while maintaining the industry and restaurant standards.&nbsp;Chefs responsibilities include (but not limited to):<ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li style="text-align:justify;">Prepare, cook, serve and organise food</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Plan menus and ensure proper portion size and quality of food</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Estimate amounts and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredients</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Instruct cooks and other workers in the preparation, cooking, baking, garnishing, and presentation of food</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Meet with sales representative to negotiate prices and order supplies</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Monitors the portion and waste control to maintain profit margins</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Keep an eye on latest cooking trends and on business to ensure good customer service</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Check freshness and presentation of food</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Analysing the recipes to assign prices to menu items based on food, labor and overhead costs</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Ensuring that all the area of kitchen is kept clean and hygienic (OH&amp;S compliance)</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Competent in food quality checks</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Manage temperature logs for ovens and freezers</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Prepare food according to customers need i.e. dietary requirements</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Informs wait staff of the daily specials and delegates the tasks to the kitchen staff</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Inspecting proper utilisation and operation of all equipment and utilities</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Meet with customers to discuss menus for special occasions such as weddings, parties, and banquets</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Discuss food preparation issues with Manager, kitchen and waiting staff</li></ul>&nbsp;&nbsp;Cooks responsibilities include (but not limited to):<ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li style="text-align:justify;">Prepare, season and cook food as directed while meeting dietary requirements as required</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Follow recipes and presentation specifications</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Monitor quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Prepare and use specialized kitchen equipment for use</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Communicate with other staff members of the kitchen team and food service staff</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Work cooperatively with other members of the kitchen team</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Demonstrate a high standard of personal hygiene</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Ensures high standards of sanitation and cleanliness are maintained throughout the kitchen</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Skills in a wide range of cookery methods to produce a range of menu items</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Minimise food spoilage</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Examine the food items to ensure high quality of food</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Help plan menus and estimate food requirements for menu</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Storing food in cool room in appropriate section</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Clean and organise kitchen and equipment in adherence to hygiene and safety regulations</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Preserve and store foodstuffs in appropriate temperature-controlled facilities</li></ul>&nbsp;Skills and experience&nbsp;<ul><li style="text-align:justify;">You must be fully qualified - AQF associate degree, Certificate III, Certificate IV, or Diploma certification in relevant Hospitality qualification.</li><li style="text-align:justify;">You must have proven experience as a Chef/Cook for at least one year in a busy kitchen&nbsp;</li><li style="text-align:justify;">Experience in the smooth running of food service for the entirety of the shift</li><li>Creative and Proficiency in rostering, cost control &amp;
