Task & responsibilities

• Menu Planning and Development: Develop and innovate recipes for various dishes, including entrees, mains, salads, pizzas, pastas, and desserts, reflecting our cafe's Italian and contemporary cuisine.
• Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes from scratch, such as antipasti, fresh salads, grilled meats, seafood, pasta, and risottos.
• Kitchen Operations: Oversee daily kitchen operations, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
• Quality Control: Ensure all dishes meet recipe specifications and presentation standards, maintaining consistency in quality and taste.
• Order Management: Manage stock levels, place orders with suppliers, and oversee deliveries to ensure fresh and high-quality ingredients are always available.
• Cost Management: Monitor food costs, minimize waste, and adhere to portion control guidelines.

Qualification & experience

• Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Chef, preferably in an Italian or contemporary cuisine setting.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and procedures.
• Excellent leadership and management skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
