$75,000 - $85,000 Annual

Planning, preparing and cooking menu items to high standards. Monitoring food quality, presentation and portion control. Supervising and training kitchen staff and apprentices. Developing and updating seasonal menus and specials. Monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies and reducing wastage. Maintaining food hygiene, safety and workplace health standards. Working collaboratively to ensure efficient kitchen operations.

Task & responsibilities

  • Prepare, season, and cook a wide variety of Italian-inspired dishes in line with restaurant standards 
  • Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality of food served    
  • Monitor food preparation processes and maintain kitchen hygiene and safety standards     
  • Assist in stock control, ordering, and managing inventory. Also, in menu planning and daily specials   
  • Train and supervise kitchen assistants and apprentices when required 
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and workplace health standards

Qualification & experience

  • Diploma of Hospitality Management (or equivalent) is highly regarded 
  • Minimum 1 years of relevant full-time work experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen 
  • Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine and preparation techniques preferred  
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment   
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and organisational skills    
  • Commitment to maintaining food quality, safety, and hygiene standards
