As the Senior Chef, you will take full responsibility for kitchen operations, including menu planning, food quality, staff management, and maintaining high kitchen standards. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a small team and be a key part of the pub’s success.

Task & responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all kitchen operations on a day-to-day basis
• Prepare and present high-quality pub-style meals
• Plan and cost menus, ensuring profitability and efficiency
• Manage stock control, ordering, and budgeting
• Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff
• Create rosters and ensure kitchen staff meet service targets
• Maintain food safety, hygiene standards, and a clean, organised kitchen
• Work closely with the pub management team to maintain consistency and quality

Qualification & experience

• Relevant qualifications plus at least 1 year of experience OR at least 3 years' experience as a Chef
• Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage kitchen operations
• Previous experience in pub or hotel kitchen environments is highly regarded
• Experience with food costing, menu planning, and stock control
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP, etc.)
• Reliable, motivated, and a team-focused approach to leadership
