Chef/Cook

About the role

We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sous Chef to assist the head chef in managing our kitchen team. This is an above-award salaried position with varying shifts over seven days, depending on the needs of the business. This is a hands-on leadership role, being responsible for all kitchen processes and management. 

Your tasks will include but are not limited to

• Controlling and directing the food preparation and any other relative activities.
• Preparing for service, which includes ensuring the kitchen is well stocked with the necessary ingredients, as well as cleaning, cutting and marinating food.
• Cooking and serving food, while coordinating with other kitchen staff and wait staff.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen.
• Creating new dishes and planning menus.
• Ensuring that dishes meet high standards at all stages of preparation and presentation.
• Plan orders of equipment and ingredients according to identified shortages.
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.

Your skills and experience

• Previous experience as a Chef.
• Highly developed communication and leadership skills.
• Proven ability of kitchen management.
• Up to date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes.
• Credentials in health and safety training.
