Chef

The Chef will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality dishes, particularly pizzas and Italian-style meals, while ensuring consistency, food safety, and efficient kitchen operations. The role requires creativity, strong kitchen management skills, and the ability to maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation.

Benefits

Salary range: $70,000 - $80,000 per Annum + Superannuation.

Task & responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and presenting a variety of pizzas, pasta dishes, and other menu items. 
• Planning menus and contributing ideas for new dishes or specials. 
• Monitoring food preparation and ensuring consistency in taste, quality and presentation. 
• Managing kitchen operations and coordinating with kitchen staff during service. 
• Maintaining food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards in the kitchen. 
• Monitoring stock levels and ordering food supplies and ingredients. 
• Ensuring proper storage and handling of food items. 
• Training and supervising kitchen staff where required. 
• Controlling food costs and minimizing wastage. 
• Ensuring all meals are prepared in a timely manner during busy service periods.

Qualification & experience

• Diploma in Hospitality Management  along with Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery,  OR At least 3 years of relevant work experience as a Chef or Cook in a commercial kitchen. 
• Experience in preparing Italian cuisine, pizzas, pasta, and fast-paced kitchen service will be highly regarded. 
• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety and hygiene standards. 
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy restaurant environment. 
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
