Pastacup Haynes Location is seeking an experienced Cook to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, seasoning and cooking pasta dishes and other menu items in a busy commercial kitchen environment.

Task & responsibilities

• Check food ingredients for freshness, quality and suitability before preparation.
• Prepare ingredients including pasta, sauces, meats, vegetables, seafood, dairy products and garnishes.
• Prepare, season and cook pasta dishes and other menu items according to Pastacup recipes and store standards.
• Operate and regulate ovens, grills, fryers, cooktops and other commercial cooking equipment.
• Portion and present meals with sauces, toppings and garnishes according to customer orders.
• Prepare meals for special dietary requirements where applicable.
• Store food safely in fridges, freezers and dry storage areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen areas, equipment and utensils.
• Assist with estimating food requirements and managing stock levels.
• Receive, check and store food supplies.
• Follow food safety, workplace health and safety, and Pastacup operational procedures.

Qualification & experience

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent relevant cooking experience.
• Experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen, preferably in a pasta, Italian-style, café, restaurant or casual dining environment.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene procedures.
• Ability to cook consistently during busy service periods.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow standard recipes and procedures.
