As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of menu items to the highest standards of quality and presentation while assisting the Commis, Demi Chef, Chef de Partie and senior chefs in the daily operations of the assigned kitchen section. 

You will perform mise en place, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and prepared in accordance with established recipes, and prepare guest orders while accommodating any special dietary requirements. 

The role requires maintaining consistency and excellence in food production and presentation, ensuring strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, HACCP, and sanitation standards, and safely storing food using appropriate temperature control procedures.  You will also minimise waste by following recipe cards and maintaining portion control, keep kitchen areas, equipment, and tools clean and well organised, and complete opening and closing duties as assigned. 

Additionally, you will contribute to kitchen efficiency, foster a positive team environment, and assist in training and guiding junior kitchen colleagues where required.

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:

• At least 1 year of experience in a similar Cook role within a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant
• A relevant Diploma in Culinary Arts or equivalent qualification
• Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen operations
• Basic proficiency in spoken and written English
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• A positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and passion for hospitality
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Full Australian working rights
• Luxury hotel experience is highly desirable.
