This role involves managing kitchen staff, overseeing food preparation, ensuring quality and presentation standards, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities</li><li>Modify existing menus or create new ones that meet quality standards</li><li>Estimate food requirements and food/labour costs</li><li>Supervise the activities of kitchen staff</li><li>Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs</li><li>Recruit and manage kitchen staff</li><li>Rectify arising problems or complaints</li><li>Perform administrative duties</li><li>Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards</li><li>Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers</li><li>Display strong leadership skills and effectively manage and communicate with a diverse team</li><li>Manage and maintain a food safety program, including documentation</li><li>Undertake menu planning, rostering and ordering</li><li>Prepare and cook food to a consistent standard</li><li>Demonstrate techniques and provide guidance on cooking methods</li><li>Monitor and supervise OH&amp;S standards and procedures</li><li>Build and maintain effective working relationships</li><li>Take a genuine interest in the day-to-day operations of the restaurant</li><li>Maintain outstanding time management during preparation and service periods</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Minimum 1 year of proven experience as a Chef</li><li>Excellent record of kitchen management</li><li>Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently</li><li>Capable of delegating multiple tasks</li><li>Strong communication and leadership skills</li><li>Up to date with culinary trends and optimised kitchen processes</li><li>Good understanding of useful computer programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)</li><li>Credentials in health and safety training</li><li>Culinary school diploma or degree in food service management or a related field</li></ul>
