This full-time position is ideal for an experienced hospitality professional with a passion for wood-fired pizza, quality ingredients and consistently excellent food.</p><br><h3>Benefits</h3><ul><li>A competitive annual salary of <strong>$75,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation</strong>, based on qualifications and experience.</li><li>Stable, full-time employment.</li><li>The opportunity to work with quality ingredients in a welcoming, food-focused venue.</li><li>A supportive and collaborative kitchen environment.</li><li>Opportunities to contribute to new dishes, seasonal menus and pizza specials.</li></ul><br><h3>Task & responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Inspect fresh produce, meats, cheeses and other ingredients to ensure they meet our quality and freshness standards.</li><li>Prepare, stretch and shape pizza dough and assemble pizzas using the correct recipes and portion sizes.</li><li>Operate and monitor the wood-fired pizza oven, conventional ovens, grills and other kitchen equipment, adjusting temperatures and cooking times as required.</li><li>Prepare and cook pizzas and other menu items efficiently while maintaining consistent taste, presentation and quality.</li><li>Apply herbs, spices and seasonings throughout the cooking process to achieve the required flavours.</li><li>Manage pizza toppings and mise en place to support smooth service during busy periods.</li><li>Rotate, label and store ingredients and prepared food in appropriate refrigerated, frozen or heated facilities.</li><li>Prepare menu items for customers with allergies, intolerances and other dietary requirements while following safe food-handling procedures.</li><li>Assist with menu development, seasonal specials and wood-fired pizza offerings.</li><li>Help calculate ingredient quantities and food requirements to minimise waste and maintain appropriate stock levels.</li><li>Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures.</li><li>Clean and maintain food-preparation areas, cooking equipment and the wood-fired oven.</li><li>Support and train junior kitchen staff and apprentices when required.</li><li>Work collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure timely and professional service.</li></ul><br><h3>Qualification & experience</h3><ul><li>A relevant commercial cookery qualification, such as a <strong>Certificate III or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery</strong>, or an equivalent recognised qualification.</li><li>At least <strong>1 year of relevant commercial kitchen experience</strong> is required.</li><li>Previous experience preparing pizzas and working with a wood-fired pizza oven is highly regarded.</li><li>Good knowledge of food safety, kitchen hygiene and temperature-control requirements.</li><li>Strong time-management and organisational skills.</li><li>Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.</li><li>Availability to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.</li><li>Full Australian working rights.</li></ul>
