This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Cook to work in a professional hospitality environment and contribute to the preparation and delivery of high-quality meals.About the RoleThe successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items, maintaining food quality and presentation, and ensuring that food is prepared in accordance with recipes, food safety requirements and established kitchen standards.The position is suited to a qualified and experienced Cook who is reliable, organised and able to work efficiently in a busy commercial kitchen.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesDuties include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Preparing and cooking food according to recipes, menu requirements and customer orders.</li><li>Preparing ingredients by cutting, chopping, slicing and dicing meat, poultry, vegetables and other food products.</li><li>Preparing and cooking grill items, burgers and other menu meals.</li><li>Preparing food in accordance with standard recipes and portion requirements.</li><li>Preparing meals to accommodate special dietary requirements and reasonable customer requests.</li><li>Operating and regulating ovens, grills, fryers and other commercial cooking equipment.</li><li>Monitoring cooking temperatures and cooking food to the required standards.</li><li>Checking the quality, freshness and condition of ingredients before preparation and cooking.</li><li>Portioning and plating food according to established serving standards.</li><li>Maintaining food preparation and cooking areas in a clean and hygienic condition.</li><li>Following food safety, hygiene and safe food handling procedures.</li><li>Properly storing, labelling and rotating food products and ingredients.</li><li>Monitoring stock levels and identifying food and ingredient requirements.</li><li>Preparing daily stock and ingredient orders as required.</li><li>Minimising food wastage and maintaining appropriate stock rotation.</li><li>Reporting faulty or unsafe kitchen equipment and maintenance requirements to management.</li><li>Following recipes, written procedures and verbal instructions relating to food preparation and cooking.</li></ul>Qualifications and ExperienceTo be successful in this role, you will have:<ul><li>Certificate III or Cert iv in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.</li><li>Minimum 1 year of relevant experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen.</li><li>Demonstrated experience in food preparation and cooking in a commercial environment.</li><li>Knowledge of cooking methods, food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.</li><li>Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe food handling practices.</li><li>Ability to follow recipes, portion requirements and customer orders.</li><li>Ability to maintain consistent food quality and presentation.</li><li>Ability to work efficiently in a busy commercial kitchen.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining food quality and hygiene standards.</li></ul>What We Offer<ul><li>Full-time, permanent employment.</li><li>Competitive salary of $80,000 – $100,000 + superannuation, depending on skills and experience.</li><li>Stable employment with an established hospitality business</li></ul>How to Apply<ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li>Applicants who meet the above requirements are invited to apply by submitting their resume, including details of their relevant qualifications and experience, online or by email to publichousekitchenbar@gmail.com.</li></ul>
