Maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards is an essential part of the role.This is a great opportunity to join a growing local business and build a stable, long-term career in a supportive kitchen environment. <h3>Benefits</h3><ul><li>Permanent, stable full-time position</li><li>Competitive salary</li><li>Supportive and friendly team environment</li><li>Staff meals provided during shifts</li><li>Opportunity to contribute to menu development and new dishes</li><li>Career growth within a growing local business</li></ul> <h3>Task & responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Preparing and cooking authentic Nepalese cuisine to the highest standard.</li><li>Preparing fillings, doughs, achar, sauces and spice blends from scratch.</li><li>Planning menus and daily specials, keeping in mind customer demand and dietary requirements.</li><li>Examining ingredients to ensure quality and freshness.</li><li>Regulating temperatures of ovens, steamers, grills and fryers.</li><li>Seasoning, portioning and presenting dishes consistently.</li><li>Ensuring all kitchen operations comply with food safety and sanitation regulations, including cleaning and hygiene protocols.</li><li>Maintaining accurate inventory records, ordering supplies and rotating stock.</li><li>Storing food correctly in temperature-controlled facilities.</li><li>Making the best use of leftover ingredients to minimise waste and control food costs.</li><li>Supervising and training kitchen staff during busy service periods.</li><li>Researching and developing new Nepalese dishes to keep the menu fresh and appealing.</li></ul> <h3>Qualification & experience</h3><ul><li>Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification</li><li>Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Chef / Cook in a commercial kitchen</li><li>Proven experience and expertise in the kitchen as a Chef / Cook</li><li>Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen hazard prevention</li><li>Experience with stock control, ordering and food costing</li><li>Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays</li><li>Strong communication and time management skills to work in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Ability to work well in a team and supervise junior kitchen staff</li><li>Passion for Nepalese food and culture</li></ul>
