 About the Role
We're looking for a friendly and motivated Medical Receptionist to join our welcoming front desk team at Rockhampton Base Hospital.
As the first point of contact, you'll play a vital role in supporting inpatients and outpatients accessing a full range of imaging services - from X-ray, Ultrasound, CT to MRI and Interventional Procedures.
This is a Monday to Friday role, rostered between 6.30am and 6pm, with the option to work a 9 day fortnight giving you the work-life balance you deserve.
 A Day in the Life
<ul>
<li>Greeting patients and creating a welcoming first impression</li>
<li>Managing bookings, billing, and payments (Medicare, health funds, EFTPOS)</li>
<li>Working closely with Medical/Surgical wards and our technical team</li>
<li>Inpatient procedure and CT Injection bookings</li>
<li>Coordinating with referrers and doctors for appointments and results</li>
<li>Attending staff meetings and ongoing training sessions</li>
<li>Maintaining compliance with workplace health &amp; safety and company policies</li>
</ul>
 About You
You'll thrive in this role if you have:
<ul>
<li>Previous experience in healthcare reception (Medical Imaging, Dental, Allied Health or similar) - highly regarded</li>
<li>A professional, approachable, and confident communication style - in person and over the phone</li>
<li>Knowledge of medical terminology or practice management systems (an advantage)</li>
<li>A collaborative, proactive attitude and high integrity</li>
<li>A well-presented and patient-focused approach</li>
<li>Excellence in customer service delivery in order to exceed patient and referrer expectations.</li>
<li>Effective communication and interpersonal skills to show patients care, compassion, and empathy</li>
<li>Excellent attention to detail to ensure patient confidentiality</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal skills to assist in building partnerships and fostering collaborative relationships across the business.</li>
<li>Detailed analytical and problem-solving skills</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail and focus on completing high quality work</li>
